Former member of the House of Representatives, Danjuma Usman Shiddi, has formally resigned from the African Democratic Congress, citing concerns over the prevailing political environment and its potential implications for his career and constituents.

According to Ireporter Online, Shiddi tendered his resignation in a letter dated March 18, 2026, addressed to the chairman of Puje Ward in Wukari Local Government Area of Taraba State. In the correspondence, he explained that after reassessing his decision to join the party, he concluded that the current uncertainties within the political landscape could hinder both his ambitions and the welfare of the people he represents.

He further stated that remaining in the party no longer aligns with his strategic direction, noting that the decision to leave was not made lightly. Shiddi, however, acknowledged the meaningful relationships he built during his time in the party and expressed appreciation for the support he received from members of the ADC.

Reaffirming his commitment to public service, the former lawmaker emphasized his resolve to continue pursuing avenues that would enable him to effectively represent his constituents. He also requested the removal of his name from the party’s membership register and extended his best wishes to the ADC in its future engagements.

It was gathered that copies of his resignation letter were forwarded to relevant stakeholders, including the Wukari Council chairman, the Taraba State chairman of the ADC, and the Resident Electoral Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission in the state.
