La Liga president Javier Tebas has commended Cristiano Ronaldo for his recent investment in UD Almería, noting that the move is already reshaping the club’s commercial prospects. According to Ireporter Online, Ronaldo acquired a 25 percent stake in the Segunda División outfit through CR7 Sports Investments, marking a significant step into football ownership while still actively playing.

Early indicators suggest the investment is yielding results, particularly in the club’s digital growth. Since the agreement was completed, Almería have witnessed a notable surge in their online following, climbing into the top five most-followed football clubs in Spain—an impressive achievement for a team outside the top division. Speaking during the presentation of La Liga’s 2024–25 Economic and Financial Report, Tebas described Ronaldo’s involvement as a “strategic asset,” emphasizing its long-term value. He revealed that the club’s audience has expanded by approximately 25 percent since Ronaldo joined the project, adding that such growth, when matched with meaningful engagement, significantly boosts a club’s attractiveness to potential sponsors.
