According to Ireporter Online, fresh internal cracks have widened within the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Adamawa State as a bloc loyal to Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed Binani has announced its mass resignation from the party following escalating leadership disputes.

The decision was contained in a communiqué issued after a stakeholders’ meeting held at the residence of Hon. Mijiyewa Umaru Kugama, with participants drawn from the three senatorial districts of the state. The group accused the party leadership of eroding democratic values and weakening internal structures.

In the communiqué, the stakeholders alleged that recent congresses were marred by irregularities and imposed against the will of party members. They further claimed that the exercises were “fundamentally flawed and manipulated,” insisting that the outcomes lacked legitimacy.

The group also faulted party officials for allegedly disregarding court directives and existing injunctions, warning that such actions amounted to a dangerous disregard for the rule of law and democratic order within the party.

A vote of no confidence was passed on the state leadership of the ADC, with the faction formally announcing its withdrawal from the party. The group stated that it would no longer associate with what it described as a system driven by injustice and impunity, while also declaring the disputed congress outcomes “null and void.”

Although no alternative platform was officially named, the stakeholders confirmed plans to realign politically, mandating Binani to spearhead the transition process and coordinate a unified strategy ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The development is expected to significantly reshape the political dynamics in Adamawa State, where Binani remains a prominent figure in the emerging governorship contest.

The communiqué further outlined plans for widespread grassroots mobilisation across polling units, wards, and local government areas, describing the move as the beginning of a renewed political direction anchored on inclusiveness, credibility, and democratic principles.
