APC Announces Winners Of Senate And House Of Reps Primaries In Plateau State

According to Ireporter Online, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially announced the winners of its Senate and House of Representatives primaries in Plateau State ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The declaration was made on Tuesday night in Jos by the Chairman of the Plateau State Primary Election Committee, Mrs Stella Oketete, who confirmed that the exercise was conducted peacefully and transparently across all constituencies and senatorial districts in the state.

Oketete stated that the party’s House of Representatives candidates include Beni Lar for Langtang North/Langtang South, Dachung Bagos for Jos South/Jos East, Abubakar Shaibu for Jos North/Bassa, Yusuf Gagdi for Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam, Ishaya Lalu for Mangu/Bokkos, Dalyop Fom for Barkin Ladi/Riyom, Joe Dashe for Mikang/Qua’an Pan/Shendam, and Idris Wase for Wase Federal Constituency.

She further announced that Senator Simon Lalong emerged as the APC candidate for Plateau South, David Barji for Plateau Central, and Simon Mwadkwon for Plateau North Senatorial District.

The committee chairperson commended Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang for his cooperation and support, noting that it contributed to the smooth conduct of the primaries.

In a related development, former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, has withdrawn from the APC governorship primaries in Gombe State.

Pantami, in a statement issued on Tuesday through Barrister Ibrahim M. Attahir on behalf of the Pantamiyya Movement, cited alleged violations of the 2026 Electoral Act and failure to meet conditions for a credible primary as reasons for his withdrawal.

He explained that the decision followed wide consultations with stakeholders and a careful review of the unfolding developments surrounding the party’s direct primaries in the state.
