According to Ireporter Online, an aide to the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in Oyo State, Bayo Adelabu, has dismissed reports claiming that the former Minister of Power has been disqualified from the party’s governorship primary.

The aide, Comrade Femi Awogboro, maintained that Adelabu remains an active participant in the race and has not been barred from the exercise scheduled to hold in the state.

He explained that the information circulating about a possible disqualification did not originate from any official channel of the party, describing it as entirely false.

Awogboro further stated that the reports were misleading and deliberately circulated to create uncertainty among supporters and the general public.

He alleged that the intention behind the claims was to weaken growing support for Adelabu ahead of the primary election.

He urged party members, supporters, and residents of Oyo State to disregard the rumours and remain focused on the official processes of the party, stressing that opponents were attempting to sow confusion because of Adelabu’s strength as a contender.

According to him, there is no justification at any level of the party for Adelabu’s removal from the race, adding that his record in both public service and private engagement speaks volumes.

He also affirmed that Adelabu remains fully prepared for the primary election and confident of securing the party’s ticket as preparations continue toward the 2027 general elections.
