APC Chieftain Akin Ogunbiyi

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has called on the public to disregard a viral video allegedly depicting Akin Ogunbiyi making remarks that suggest the party may struggle to unseat Governor Ademola Adeleke.

According to Ireporter Online, the party dismissed the footage as misleading, describing it as a deliberate distortion of facts aimed at creating a false narrative. In a statement issued on Saturday in Osogbo, the APC spokesperson, Kola Olabisi, alleged that individuals linked to the Accord Party were responsible for circulating the clip. He characterized those behind its spread as politically irrelevant actors attempting to stir confusion.

The party maintained that Ogunbiyi’s comments had been taken out of context and manipulated to misinform the public. It reaffirmed its confidence in him, describing him as a credible and dependable leader within its ranks. The statement emphasized that his contributions to the party remain significant and consistent, particularly in efforts aimed at strengthening its position ahead of future elections.

The APC further accused its political opponents of intentionally twisting Ogunbiyi’s remarks to serve personal interests, questioning why the viral footage excluded portions of his speech where he reportedly reiterated his loyalty and commitment to the party. It suggested that the selective presentation of the video was designed to mislead viewers and create unnecessary controversy.

Reiterating its stance, the party urged members and the general public to ignore the clip, insisting it was crafted to sow discord. It maintained that Ogunbiyi remains fully aligned with the APC’s objective of reclaiming Osun State in the next governorship election.
