Meanwhile, the Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has reacted to allegations by the governor accusing its council officials of misappropriating funds meant for local government workers. Governor Adeleke had earlier claimed that funds running into hundreds of billions of naira had been diverted, forcing his administration to take on the financial responsibility of paying salaries for teachers, healthcare workers, pensioners, and other local government staff for over a year.

The governor further criticized the alleged diversion, stating that his administration could not abandon workers despite financial strain, emphasizing the welfare of affected families and condemning what he described as unjust treatment of public servants.

However, the APC, through its Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi, dismissed the allegations and accused the governor of attempting to incite senior local government officials. The party alleged that the administration was influencing workers to withhold payment documentation as part of a broader effort to discredit the opposition.
