The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has clarified the reason behind the “No Result Yet” status being displayed for some candidates who participated in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

According to Ireporter Online, the examination body explained in an official statement issued on Tuesday through its spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, that the situation primarily affects underage candidates whose results are yet to be released.

The board reiterated that only candidates who will attain the age of 16 by September 30, 2026, are eligible to register and sit for the UTME. However, it acknowledged that provisions exist for exceptionally gifted candidates who fall below the age requirement, noting that such individuals must meet stringent academic standards to qualify under a special consideration category.

It further disclosed that underage candidates seeking consideration must achieve a minimum score of 320 in the UTME and also attain at least 80 percent in subsequent screening stages before they can proceed further in the admission process.

The board emphasized that results for underage candidates remain withheld for now, hence the “No Result Yet” message encountered when they attempt to check their scores. It added that only those who meet the high-performance benchmark agreed upon with parents and relevant stakeholders will be shortlisted and invited to continue with the screening process.
