3,592 FCT Civil Servants Get Promotion As Wike Signs Off New Elevations

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has approved the promotion of 3,592 civil servants following the successful completion of the 2025 promotion exercise conducted by the FCT Civil Service Commission.

According to Ireporter Online, the Chairman of the FCT Civil Service Commission, Emeka Ezeh, announced the development, describing it as part of activities marking the third anniversary of President Bola Tinubu’s administration and a reflection of the Federal Capital Territory Administration’s commitment to staff welfare under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Ezeh disclosed that senior officers participated in promotion examinations held between July 1 and July 3, while junior officers sat for their examinations on July 10. He commended the FCT Minister for providing the support that enabled the commission to successfully carry out the exercise.

He further revealed that Wike has directed the commission to immediately commence preparations for the 2026 promotion exercise to ensure that qualified officers are promoted promptly without unnecessary delays.

According to the commission chairman, the directive is aimed at complementing the ongoing infrastructural development across the FCT with improved staff welfare and career progression, ensuring that civil servants also benefit from the achievements being recorded by the administration.

Ezeh applauded FCT workers for their orderly conduct throughout the 2025 promotion exercise and also acknowledged the cooperation of the Joint Union Action Committee (JUAC), noting that its support contributed significantly to the smooth conduct of the exercise.

He advised officers expected to participate in the 2026 promotion exercise to begin preparations early, stressing that promotions within the FCT Civil Service remain merit-based, highly competitive and subject to the availability of vacancies
