According to Ireporter Online, Nigerian content creator Emmanuel Obruste, popularly known as GehGeh, has revealed that the viral videos circulating online as his wedding ceremony were staged and not an actual marriage event.

The social media personality explained that the event was organised as a promotional campaign and social experiment aimed at observing public reactions and addressing what he described as misconceptions surrounding his teachings and online content.

Videos showing GehGeh and a woman dressed in matching burgundy traditional outfits at what appeared to be a wedding ceremony had earlier gone viral, generating widespread reactions from social media users.

Some critics questioned the development, accusing the influencer of contradicting his previous views on marriage after he appeared to have tied the knot.

However, during an interview with StreamRewind, GehGeh clarified that the ceremony was deliberately arranged as part of a publicity strategy. He said the event also allowed him to study how people responded to the situation and understand the public’s perception of his messages.

The content creator explained that some people misunderstood the teachings associated with his online platform, particularly claims that he discourages marriage. He maintained that he has never been against marriage but believes individuals should approach the institution differently.

GehGeh stated that he personally supports polygamy over monogamy, arguing that it aligns with practices he attributes to previous generations and his personal philosophy on relationships.

According to him, his views are not intended to prevent people from getting married but to encourage what he considers a different approach to marriage and family structures.

The revelation has continued to generate discussions online, with many social media users debating the use of staged events as a form of content creation and promotion.
