The Road to South-South: President Tinubu Calls for Unity and Self-Reliance in South-South’s Economic Revolution(Video)
The Banquet Hall of the State House became a beacon of hope and unity as the National Convergence for the Renewed Hope Agenda brought together distinguished leaders, stakeholders, and patriots from across the nation. Representing His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, was the Honorable Minister of Regional Development, Engineer Abubakar Momoh, FNSE, who delivered the President’s keynote address.
In his speech, President Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to the South-South region as the engine of Nigeria’s economic transformation. Highlighting strategic initiatives such as Project Earn from the Soil,the President emphasized the importance of revolutionizing agriculture to achieve food security and unlock export-driven economic opportunities.
The President outlined his vision to position Nigeria as a leading agricultural export nation by 2025, a goal deeply rooted in the South-South region’s abundant resources and untapped potential. He called on the youth and women to embrace self-reliance and innovation, asserting that they are indispensable to the nation’s developmental aspirations.
Honorable Gift Johnbull, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement, South-South, echoed the President’s sentiments in her impassioned address. She emphasized the region’s potential as a hub for innovation and growth, announcing the launch of The Pitching Den, a platform designed to connect bold entrepreneurs with visionary investors. This initiative promises to catalyze business opportunities and attract investments to the South-South.
The convergence also featured the unveiling of an Impact Report, showcasing milestones achieved under the Renewed Hope Agenda. This comprehensive report serves as an inspiration for further collaborative efforts in driving nation-building.
The event underscored unity, collaboration, and economic progress as central pillars of the Renewed Hope Agenda, reiterating the South-South region’s critical role in shaping Nigeria’s prosperous future.
As the nation journeys toward economic transformation, this convergence represents a renewed commitment to harnessing the immense opportunities within the South-South and beyond.
