TRENDING VIDEO: Wike ‘Attacked’ After Tinubu’s Ministerial Nomination

Former governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has faced criticism from social media users as an old video resurfaced showing him boasting that he would not become a minister.

The video comes in the context of a past rift between Wike and the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), where Wike lost the presidential bid and vice presidential slot in the lead-up to the general elections.

During the campaign, Wike supported President Bola Tinubu and stated that he was not interested in becoming a minister.

However, despite his previous remarks, his name appeared on the ministerial list sent to the National Assembly by the President.

Some Nigerians have accused him of “double-standard” and seeking public office for personal gains.

Others have defended him, saying that politics in Nigeria can be complex and that the video might not reflect the full context of his statement.

Nevertheless, the resurfaced video has generated mixed reactions from the public.
