According to Ireporter Online, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has declared that the nation’s capital is experiencing unprecedented infrastructural growth under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

Speaking during the inauguration of the Wuye District Engineering Infrastructure Project in Abuja, Wike commended the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda, saying it has rekindled citizens’ confidence in governance and accelerated development across the territory.

The minister asserted that no previous administration had achieved the scale and speed of infrastructural progress currently taking place in the FCT, challenging critics to point out any government that matched President Tinubu’s performance. He said many of the projects being commissioned were abandoned since 2009 due to non-payment of contractors, but have now been revived through the President’s intervention.

“If there’s any administration since the creation of the FCT that has done more than what we are doing, let them speak up now. Their silence says it all. President Tinubu’s leadership has silenced the opposition and proven that good governance is possible,” Wike said.

He highlighted major infrastructural revivals in the Gwagwalada District, including road networks, sectoral arterials, tunnels, and utility services, adding that the administration had already completed several key projects within just one year in office.

The minister also revealed that the FCT Administration would embark on a 20-day programme to showcase the government’s achievements in the education sector after completing its current round of project inaugurations.

“Our achievements are not limited to roads and infrastructure. For another 20 days, we will unveil what we have done in education, and Nigerians will be amazed at the level of transformation,” Wike stated.

He expressed appreciation to FCTA staff, Area Council chairmen, and councilors for their dedication, describing their collective effort as a “political tsunami of performance-driven governance” sweeping across the FCT.

Wike also noted that the provision of roads and utilities had revitalized the real estate sector and restored investor confidence. “People used to complain that there were no roads or infrastructure; today, that narrative has changed. Every corner of Abuja now reflects progress,” he said.

He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting leaders aligned with the President’s vision, emphasizing that the Renewed Hope Agenda has become a visible reality transforming lives across the FCT.

In her remarks, the FCT Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, described the Wuye Engineering Infrastructure Project as a demonstration of the administration’s commitment to delivering people-centered development. She lauded President Tinubu for illuminating every part of the FCT through his Renewed Hope Agenda and commended Wike for his visionary leadership and determination to uplift communities.

Mahmoud added, “Every milestone is a promise fulfilled, and every completion marks a new beginning. This is the spirit of governance that brings hope and progress to the people.”
