Top PDP Financier Dumps Party For APC (PHOTO)

Goodluck Adenomo, the financier of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ovia South West Local Government Area of Edo, has defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC), along with hundreds of his supporters.

During the inauguration of the APC campaign council in the local government on Thursday, the event took place at Iguobazuwa, the council’s administrative headquarters.

Adenomo attributed his decision to leave the state’s ruling party to working for the reelection of Dennis Idahosa, a federal lawmaker representing the Ovia federal constituency.

He described the development that the lawmaker has brought to the federal constituency of Ovia as unprecedented.

He emphasized the importance of Idahosa being supported and encouraged in order to attract more development projects than Ovia.

“It is for this reason for that I and my teeming supporters have decided to pitch tent with the APC to support the reelection of Idahosa.

“His performance in the office within the space of three years remained an eye opener to us in Ovia because we have had lawmakers before him who didn’t come close to what he had done,” he stated.

Mr Emma Ogbomo, Chairman of the APC’s Ovia South West Committee, who received the defectors, praised Adenomo for his audacity.

He stated that his presence alongside his supporters would undoubtedly add value to the party’s support base in the federal constituency.

“We are indeed happy with your coming and want you all to know that you will be accorded the same privileges and rights as the old members,” he stated.

Receiving the decampees, Emma Ogbomo, the party Chairman in Ovia Southwest, commended Mr Goodluck Adenomo, describing his entry as coming at the right time while stating that there is no newcomer in APC because everyone has equal rights.

Hon. Monday Aighobahi, former chairman of the local government, was appointed campaign Director General.
