Daniel Obo, the Deputy Governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Cross River, has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Obo was welcomed in his hometown by Mr. Daniel Okpa, APC Ward Chairman of Obubra Urban, in Obubra Council.

Obo, who is also the Chairman of the Cross River Chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, stated that he and his supporters defected because of the opportunities provided to youths by the state Governor, Ben Ayade.

While pledging his support for the APC governorship candidate, Senator Bassey Otu, he added: “I represent the young people and we need to stand firm for the young people of our dear state. APC in Cross River has been friendly to young people, and their tickets have been distributed to them.

“We have realised that our strength is in the APC and that is why we took the decision to join the party and protect the young people.

“For today, we have 18 youth council chairmen at the local government level that are moving with me to APC. Also, over nine ward chairmen from SDP have moved with me to APC.”
