Police declare Ebonyi APGA Gov candidate wanted | The Nation Newspaper

Ifeanyi Odoh, the governorship candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), has been declared wanted by the police in Ebonyi State.

On Monday, Odoh and nine others were declared wanted for the murder of a monarch, Igbokwe Ewa.

Unknown gunmen assassinated the monarch last Monday in his country home.

He was the traditional ruler of the Umu-Ezekoha community in the local government area of Ezza North.

Following the monarch’s death last week, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) accused Odoh and his supporters of being involved in his death.

Odoh, on the other hand, vehemently denied the allegation, claiming that the monarch, who hails from the same local government as him, was like a father to him.

However, in a statement issued on Monday, Ebonyi police spokesperson Onome Onovwakpoyeya declared Odoh and nine others wanted.

Odoh and his convoy were attacked late last year in Izzi local government.

Despite the fact that no lives were lost in the attack, one of the cars in his convoy was damaged by gunshots fired by the attackers.

Odoh was once again the victim of a deadly attack in the Ishielu local government area, which killed a police officer and his personal driver.

Last month, gunmen attacked the home of Barnabas Ofoke, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) House of Representatives candidate for Izzi/Abakaliki constituency.

Cars and other valuables were destroyed in the compound used by the party’s governorship candidate, Ifeanyi Odii.

Last month, an APC supporter was also killed in Shilu local government area when gunmen opened fire on a campaign ground in the area.
