You Displeased God To Please Men” — DeeOne Blasts Yinka Alaseyori Over Apology
According to Ireporter Online, reality TV star and comedian DeeOne has reacted to gospel singer Yinka Alaseyori’s recent apology to Nigerians over her comments on insecurity and the government’s response.
Alaseyori had come under heavy criticism following her remarks urging Nigerians to pray for President Bola Tinubu and security agencies, while noting that the government was making efforts to tackle the country’s security challenges. Her comments sparked backlash, especially amid widespread anger over the abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State, after which she released a video tendering an apology to Nigerians.
Reacting to the development, DeeOne questioned the singer’s decision to apologise, insisting that her initial statement was made from a place of spiritual conviction. He suggested that public pressure influenced her decision to retract her position, adding that she may have been concerned about public perception and potential backlash.
He further stated that she should not have bowed to criticism, arguing that her apology amounted to yielding to pressure rather than divine direction. DeeOne maintained that her earlier message was not wrong and warned that such decisions could have spiritual implications, while urging her to remain steadfast in her faith as a minister of God.
He also advised her to seek divine guidance before making such public reversals, stressing that ministers of the gospel should prioritise spiritual conviction over public opinion.
