We Will Make Conscious Investment Into Edo State Health Sector – Adolphus Arebanmhen Aletor

As the race for the governorship seat of Edo state draws nearer, a shoo-in for the position, Adolphus Arebanmhen Aletor has expressed his commitment to make conscious investment into the health sector of the state if supported to become the next executive governor of Edo state.

Speaking during a media session, the business magnate and politician identified the sector as one lacking in diverse areas in the state. And as a result, has left the state in an undesirable condition. He made known his intention to bring a total transformation to this very area, as to guarantee the good people of Edo state a safer place to run to when faced with health challenges.

He says that Edo state can become a destination hub for medical tourist citing Ogua, a village in Edo central senatorial zone notable for their God given talent for orthopedic expertise.

Going further, he spoke about the gradual extinction of Dispensaries – a colonial primary health strategy to guarantee good health in villages. He decried its absence in some locations and where available, the unavailability of the needed resources to power it. He claimed to have been a beneficiary of such health facility while growing up and that its absence or lack of adequate resources have led to the death of innocent individuals especially children.

He then reiterated his intention to bring Dispensaries back to existence. He says that the strategy will be to establish Dispensaries in each Ward and fully fund and staff them.

He then drew a relationship between the establishment of these Dispensaries and unemployment. He said that with an average of 5 staff per each location, he would have created close to 1000 jobs. He said this strategy is key to his strategy to tackle umployment in Edo state.

Mr Aletor also expressed his desire to put in place the right facilities in both primary and healthcare centers in the state, to aid quick response in cases of emergency, and among others. This he said will foster emergencies such as major operations, and other critical situations.

In his closing remarks, “there has been a huge vacuum in our health sector for a very long time now, and I believe that this should be an era of problem solving. A problem has been identified, and Adolphus Aletor, a true son of Edo, has the solution. I therefore encourage the people of Edo state to look beyond status quo and support my aspiration to be the Governor of Edo state come 2024.

“I therefore solicit your support, the good people of Edo. Let us join hands together and bring back our state back to its glory days.”
