Marginalization Of Owan Land: A Report To The President

I write on behalf of OWAN ADVOCACY FORUM FOR EQUITY AND FAIRNESS to report to Mr. President, His Excellency Senator Bola Almed Tinubu GCFR that the good people of Owan Land have been marginalized, neglected and relegated in distribution of political positions in Edo State, especially as it affects federal appointments since 1999.

This anomaly the Forum noted has retard the rate of development and lack of federal presence in Owan Land.

Mr. President Sir, of note is the fact that since 1999, no Owan man has been appointed into the Federal Executive Council, who could have presented the developmental needs of Owan Land to the Federal Executive Council in order to drive the process of development of Owan Land.

Mr. President Sir, when when many were still contemplating whether or not to support your candidacy, the good people of Owan Land, who are the fourth largest tribe in Edo State, without hesitation or persuasion from any quarters wholeheartedly and overwhelmingly thrown their weight behind you and the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The result of this was the resounding success the APC recorded in Owan Land during the Presidential and National Assembly Elections.

The Owan people of Edo State believe and strongly so that you were the only Presidential candidate who had indeed prepared for the Presidency, hence their overwhelming support for your candidacy which resulted to your resounding victory at the polls in Owan Land.

The Owan Advocacy Forum for Equity and Fairness are therefore humbly and passionately appealing to Mr. President, His Excellency Senator Bola Almed Tinubu GCFR to consider the Appointment of an Owan Man as Minister representing Edo State in the Federal Executive Council.

This the Forum believes would address the problems of marginalization, neglect, relegation and underdevelopment that the people of Owan Land had suffered and subjected to over the years.
