GROUP CALLS ON CATHOLIC PRIEST TO CONTEST EDO 2024 GUBER*
A Group has called on a Catholic Priest, Very . Rev. Fr. Andrew Obinyan to contest the forth coming Edo State Gubernatorial Election.
The Group known as Youth for Good Governance (YGG) under the auspices of Comrade Arigbe Victor Foundation, a Non- Governmental Organization (N.G.O) based in the United Kingdom whose Membership are Youths drawn from the 18 Local Government Area of Edo State made the call during a courtesy visit to the Clergy Man in Benin City.
Speaking on behalf of the Group, Comrade Goodnews Ehiabhi stated that the Group whose Membership include over Three Million Youths across the Country is advocating for transparency and good governance.
He noted that the Group has been following the activities and antecedents of the Cleric over the years, and believe that he is more suited to take the State to Greater Heights .
The Group described Rev. Fr . Obinyan as a man of integrity with a passion for human empowerment and infrastructural development which is evident by his philanthropic gestures.
Comrade Ehiabhi stated that ” your charisma, empathy and dedication to serving humanity has left an indelible mark on the hearts and minds of the people and residents of Edo State . Your unique ability to connect with individuals from all walks of life, addressing their concerns and uplifting them, has solidified your place as a true representative of the people”.
” We believe that your influence and leadership can bring a positive change and transform the lives of countless individuals across our great state, he stressed.
They appreciated the Clergyman for setting up Scholarship Scheme to carter for the welfare of students of Tertiary Institutions.
The Group further said, though it’s Members are drawn from the three Senatorial Districts in the state; for the interest of equity, fairness and justice , they will support the Edo Central Senatorial District to produce the next Edo State Governor and pledged their total support, if the Clergyman accepts their call to contest the election.
In his response, Very. Rev. Fr. Andrew Obinyan appreciated the Group for the visit and kind words .
Fr . Obinyan said, “ as a man of prayer, I prefix the will of God on critical issues as I navigate through life and Ministry. As Youths and backbone of the society, your desire for good governance is timely and reassuring. I am prayerfully considering your request”.
