How Shettima Was Received When He Arrived In Rome Ahead Of UN Food Systems Summit (PHOTOS)

Vice-President Kashim Shettima has arrived in Rome, Italy, to represent President Bola Tinubu at the United Nations Food Systems Summit.

The event is scheduled to take place from Monday, July 24 to Wednesday, July 26.

Upon his arrival at Leonardo Da Vinci airport at 7:45 pm Italian time he was warmly received by Nigerian diplomats, including the Nigerian ambassador to Italy, Mfawa Omini Abam, the Head of the Consular Department, Nigerian Embassy in Italy, Ugochukwu Onuzulike, and the President of the Nigerian Community in Rome, Chima Ibezim.

During the summit’s opening event on Monday, Vice-President Shettima will chair high-level sessions on the theme “Innovative Financing for Food System Transformation: the Case of Nigeria” and participate in a side event titled “Scaling up Multi-Stakeholders Collaboration and Investment in the Implementation of Food Systems Transformation Pathways in Nigeria.”

In addition to these engagements, he is expected to hold bilateral meetings with other leaders on the sidelines of the summit.

The Vice President is accompanied by Permanent Secretaries from the Ministries of Agriculture, Environment, and other senior government officials.
