Police Arrest Bankole For Killing 45-Year-Old Ex-lover

Reports reveal that the accused managed to entice the victim to his residence in the Oke-Aro area of the state capital before carrying out the crime. The incident came to light when the deceased failed to return home on Saturday after visiting Oginni’s house.

The daughter of the deceased, who chose to remain anonymous, became concerned when she couldn’t reach her mother’s phone after her absence.

Worried, she decided to visit Oginni’s house to check on her mother. To her shock, she discovered her mother’s lifeless body tied with a rope in the suspect’s living room.

She went on to share that her mother’s abdomen had been cut open, and there were signs of scalding water having been poured on her body. These distressing details led her to raise the alarm.

Beside her mother’s remains, a knife and a sack were also found. The state’s Police spokesperson, Olufumilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, confirmed the incident, stating that the suspect was already in custody. The deceased’s body has been taken to the mortuary.
