This system serves as the primary means for managing skilled worker applications for immigration to Canada.

As stated by the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) on Tuesday, Canada has established a streamlined immigration avenue for skilled professionals specializing in carpentry, plumbing, and welding.

“The Express Entry (EE) system in Canada is now designed to offer a simplified and efficient route for individuals with expertise in critical fields. By giving priority to skilled newcomers with experience in trades, the objective is to meet the growing demand for talent and to fill crucial positions contributing to the nation’s economic progress and advancement.”

The statement continues that these selection rounds based on categories will continue throughout the year, alongside general invitation rounds. More details about this will be revealed in the upcoming weeks.

According to Marc Miller, the Minister of IRCC, addressing the shortage of skilled tradespeople in the country is of utmost importance. Assisting the construction sector in recruiting and retaining the workers it requires is a key aspect of the solution.

“This category-based selection round acknowledges the significance of these skilled tradesworkers and I eagerly anticipate welcoming more of these talented individuals to Canada,” he stated.

Numerous avenues are available for professionals and workers to meet the criteria for obtaining a permanent resident visa for Canada, according to legal experts at First Immigration Law Firm based in Canada.

The most notable option is the Express Entry route, which is the primary path for skilled workers in the economic class. To enhance eligibility under this entry, individuals should meet the prerequisites of either the Federal Skilled Worker Program or the Canadian Experience Class.
