DHQ Delegation Pays Condolence Visit To Family Of Late Maj. Gen. Rabe Abubakar

A delegation from the Defence Headquarters has paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Maj. Gen. Rabe Abubakar and the Katsina State Government following his passing.

According to Ireporter Online, the delegation was led by the Chief of Administration (Army), Maj. Gen. I.M. Abdullahi, who conveyed the condolences of the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. O.O. Oluyede, and the Armed Forces of Nigeria to the bereaved family, the Katsina State Government, and the people of the state.

During the visit to the family residence in Katsina, Maj. Gen. Abdullahi described the late Abubakar as a committed, patriotic and distinguished officer whose decades of service significantly contributed to the growth of the Nigerian Army and the strengthening of the nation’s security framework. He further noted that the late officer left behind a legacy of professionalism and dedication that would continue to inspire serving personnel.

The delegation also assured the family of the continued support and solidarity of the military throughout the mourning period. In recognition of his service and sacrifice, a Nigerian flag was presented to the family.

Speaking on behalf of the family, Alhaji Dikko Mu’azu Ruma, the Gado da Masun Katsina, expressed gratitude to the Armed Forces for their show of support and prayed for the peaceful repose of the deceased.

The delegation earlier visited the Katsina State Government House, where they were received by Deputy Governor Mallam Faruk Lawal Jobe on behalf of Governor Dikko Umaru Radda. The Deputy Governor described the late Abubakar’s death as a significant loss to both Katsina State and the nation, praising his lifelong commitment to national service and security.

He also called for stronger collaboration among stakeholders in addressing insecurity across the region, while reaffirming the state government’s continued support for military operations aimed at restoring peace in the North-West.

Maj. Gen. Abdullahi, in response, appreciated the state government’s cooperation with the military and emphasized that sustained collaboration remained essential in achieving lasting peace and stability.

Special prayers were offered at both the family residence and Government House for the repose of the late officer’s soul. The visits were attended by senior military officers, traditional rulers, and prominent sons of Katsina State.
