Immigration Reveals Causes Of Passport Delays

Sunday James, the Controller of the NIS in Rivers State, shared this information in Port Harcourt during the commemoration of the service’s 60th anniversary in the state.

In his address, James provided insights into the evolution of the Nigerian passport and pointed out that discrepancies in identity information, including NINs, have been causing the delays in the passport processing and issuance.

Further discussing the matter on the sidelines of the event, the controller emphasized how the service has progressed over time since its inception.

Several participants who had discussions with journalists expressed their appreciation for the efforts of the immigration service.

The event saw the presence of officers from sister security agencies, with notable moments including the display of passports, residence permits, and other forms of identification.

As part of the anniversary activities, NIS operatives were lined up for inspection at the Federal Secretariat building.

The conference hall was filled with service personnel, both men and officers, along with members of the public and other stakeholders who came together to celebrate the service’s anniversary.
