Isaac Fayose has stirred controversy on social media after making a sarcastic assessment of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration and the economic challenges facing Nigerians.

According to Ireporter Online, Fayose, in a video circulating online, described Tinubu as a president who had succeeded in uniting Nigerians, but suggested that the unity was driven by widespread economic hardship.

Fayose sarcastically praised the President for what he described as an unprecedented level of national unity, arguing that Nigerians had been brought together by poverty and sadness.

“Tinubu is the only president in Nigeria that unites the country. He is the best president ever to unite our country,” Fayose said.

He continued by claiming that the economic difficulties experienced by citizens had created a common bond among Nigerians.

“God bless Tinubu as we are united in poverty, we are united in sadness,” he said, adding that the President had allegedly used poverty to bring Nigerians together.

Fayose also made a political reference to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) symbol, suggesting that Nigerians had become trapped by economic hardship under the current administration.

“So we are chained in poverty, that’s why their sign is chained to poverty,” he said.

The younger brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose further urged Nigerians to turn their shared economic frustrations into political action.

He argued that the hardship facing citizens could potentially become a weakness for the government if Nigerians collectively demanded change.

“And you know what, we can use his strength, which is poverty, against him. He’s still very vulnerable. So come out and free yourself. Liberation time, it is blessing time, free yourself,” Fayose said.

His comments have since generated reactions online, with social media users debating his sarcastic portrayal of the Tinubu administration and his remarks about the economic difficulties confronting Nigerians.
