What Obasanjo Told Adeleke Concerning His Critics
In a gathering held at the Love of Christ Generation Church C&S in Victoria Island, Lagos State, Former President Olusegun Obasanjo commended Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, for demonstrating his effectiveness in governance, dispelling initial doubts, even with his well-known dance proficiency.
Governor Adeleke proudly declared that he had achieved remarkable milestones within his first 100 days in office, surpassing what many couldn’t accomplish in four years of governance.
His achievements included significant reforms in the public service, improvements in workers’ welfare, the construction and reconstruction of over 40 kilometers of roads, and the implementation of free medical surgeries, benefitting more than 40,000 individuals.

Adeleke emphasized, “I am never ashamed to hold unto God through song and dance. Several men and women of God predicted my governorship. I am here to praise God for the prophecy that has come to pass. My communion with God is to come back to thank and praise him.”
Distinguished guests at the event included former Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi; Dele Momodu, the Publisher of Ovation Magazine; Adewale Egbedun, Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly; parliament members, and prominent political and traditional leaders.
Obasanjo, in his address, lauded Governor Adeleke for proving skeptics wrong by being not just a dancing governor but one who is highly industrious. The former president commended the governor as an exemplar of a leader unafraid to offer praise to God despite holding the highest office in the state. He emphasized that both dancing and working for the welfare of the people and for God are endeavors worthy of pride.
“Mr. Governor, they call you a dancer, but you are dancing to praise God. And I heard you are working hard for your people. God whom you are praising will shower his blessings on your state and government. I associate with you,” Obasanjo expressed.
