According to Ireporter Online, a 26-year-old Ghanaian lawyer, identified as Sarah Araba Tettey, has tragically died after reportedly suffering cardiac arrest while celebrating Ghana’s victory over Panama in a football match on Wednesday.

Tettey, a graduate of the Faculty of Law at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), was called to the Ghana Bar earlier this year and had recently begun her legal career with O & A Legal Consult, according to informed sources.

She was said to have been watching the match in the company of friends at Standard Hostel, a private accommodation facility in Bomso, near the KNUST campus, when the incident occurred. Witnesses reported that she suddenly collapsed amid celebrations following Ghana’s win.

Friends and other eyewitnesses immediately rushed her to the KNUST Hospital, also known as Tech Hospital, where medical personnel reportedly carried out cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for about 45 minutes in an effort to revive her. Despite the sustained efforts of the medical team, she was later pronounced dead.

Her passing has thrown the Ghanaian legal community into mourning, particularly among colleagues from KNUST and the Ghana School of Law, where she was widely known and well regarded.

Fondly called Araba Tettey by peers, she was described as a diligent and promising young lawyer whose professionalism and dedication stood out early in her career.

Her remains have been deposited at the KNUST Medical School mortuary as arrangements continue.
