According to Ireporter Online, Nigerian-British entrepreneur Nana Otedola, wife of billionaire businessman Femi Otedola, has dismissed widespread speculation about her nationality, clarifying that she is not Ghanaian as claimed in some online discussions.

The clarification comes after she was repeatedly misidentified due to her name and appearance. She addressed the matter in a viral video alongside her pregnant daughter, Temi Otedola, where she firmly stated her Nigerian heritage.

Nana Otedola explained that she is proudly Nigerian and traced her roots to Abeokuta in Ogun State, stressing that her identity is firmly rooted in Egba land. She noted that although she understands the public curiosity surrounding her background, it was important to set the record straight.

“I’m an Egba woman, and that’s the part I’ll gladly claim as a Nigerian. I am not a Ghanaian; my roots are in Abeokuta,” she said.

She further attributed the confusion to her upbringing across different parts of Nigeria, revealing that she was born in Kaduna State and spent nearly two decades living there. According to her, her long residence in northern Nigeria may have influenced how people perceive her identity.

“I was born in Kaduna and lived there for almost two decades,” she added, noting that despite her connections to Kaduna, her cultural identity remains strongly tied to Egba heritage.
