According to Ireporter Online, Manchester City are set to begin a new chapter in the 2026-27 Premier League season with a home fixture against Bournemouth, following the official release of the league schedule. The campaign marks the end of an era at the Etihad Stadium after Pep Guardiola departed following a decade in charge, a period widely regarded as one of the most successful in English football history.

Guardiola concluded his reign with FA Cup and League Cup triumphs in the 2025-26 season, although City fell short in the Premier League title race, finishing seven points behind champions Arsenal. The club is now expected to move forward under former Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca, who is tasked with rebuilding the squad amid further departures, including experienced stars Bernardo Silva and John Stones as their contracts expire.

City’s opening month presents an early test, with fixtures against Crystal Palace and Manchester United following their season opener against Bournemouth on August 23. The first Manchester derby is scheduled for mid-September at Old Trafford, while the return fixture at the Etihad will take place in March.

Key clashes also await against reigning champions Arsenal, with an away trip to the Emirates scheduled for late November and a home meeting in January, fixtures that could prove pivotal in the title race. The season will conclude on May 30, 2027, with an away trip to Sunderland’s Stadium of Light, bringing an intense and demanding campaign to a close.
