According to Ireporter Online, the Inspector General of Police, Tunji Disu, has approved the appointment of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Isuku Victor as the new Force Public Relations Officer.

The development also includes the immediate redeployment of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Anthony Okon Placid, who was appointed Force spokesperson just three months ago shortly after IGP Disu assumed office as the 23rd Inspector General of Police. Placid has now been moved to the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja.

The shake-up is part of a broader administrative restructuring within the Nigeria Police Force. Prior to his new role, CSP Victor served as the Officer-in-Charge of the Complaints Response Unit (CRU).

The changes were formally communicated through a Police Wireless Message signed by the Force Secretary and circulated to all departments, commands, and formations across the country. Sources within Force Headquarters described the postings as routine strategic adjustments aimed at strengthening operational efficiency and improving service delivery within both the Force Public Relations and investigative arms.

The circular further emphasized that the redeployments are intended to enhance overall effectiveness in line with ongoing reforms within the police structure.

DCP Placid confirmed his redeployment in a comment to Premium Times, although the Nigeria Police Force has not provided additional details surrounding the decision.
