Edo State’s Deputy Governor, Philip Shuaibu, has initiated the process of relocating his office from the Government House premises to a new location.

This decision comes in the wake of the withdrawal of his lawsuit aimed at preventing alleged efforts by Governor Godwin Obaseki to oust him from office.

The new office is situated at No. 7, Dennis Osadebey Avenue, near the Government House. According to sources close to the deputy governor, a directive from the Head of Service instructed the Permanent Secretary, Office of the Deputy Governor, to oversee the transition of civil servants and documents to the new office.

However, reports indicate that the new office faces challenges, lacking basic amenities like electricity, experiencing waterlogging, and featuring limited office space.

While the state government maintains that the deputy governor’s new office falls within the designated Government House area, concerns have been raised about its suitability for official use.
