How FUTMinna Lecturer Was Found Dead With Her Throat Slit

Dr. (Mrs) Adefolalu Funmilola Sherifat, a lecturer in the Department of Biochemistry at the School of Life Sciences, Federal University of Technology (FUT) Minna, located in Niger State, was tragically discovered murdered in her residence in the Gbaiko Area of the town.

The Chairperson of the Academic Staff Union of University (ASUU) at the institution, Professor Gbolahan Bolarin, confirmed this distressing news to Channels Television.

Professor Bolarin revealed that Dr. Sherifat’s body was found on Sunday morning, after her church members became concerned when she did not attend the service.

Residents reported that upon forcibly entering her home, they found her in a pool of blood with her throat slashed, and knives were found nearby. The police subsequently moved the body to the mortuary.

Wasiu Abiodun, the spokesperson for the Niger Police Command, informed Channels Television that additional details about the incident would be provided in due course.

According to some residents, the late university teacher’s husband, who was also a professor at the same institution, had previously passed away. Until her untimely demise, she had been living with a female house help, whom she had let go of just the day before her tragic death.
