The 19-year-old emphasized the importance of shoring up their defense to enhance their standing in the league table.
Currently positioned 16th in the NPFL standings, the Ikon Allah Boys are gearing up to face Katsina United as the second round of the season commences on February 14.
Ernest stated, “It’s been a tough journey so far. We understand that we haven’t met our performance expectations, but we are resolute about turning the tide in the latter half of the season.”
“To begin with, we must bolster our defense. We’ve conceded more goals than we’ve scored in the initial phase, and it’s imperative that we rectify this if we intend to maintain our league status.”
“Additionally, we need to exhibit greater efficiency in front of the net. Although we’ve created numerous opportunities, our conversion rate has been inconsistent.”
He added, “Currently, we’re trailing our upcoming opponents, Katsina United, by six points. This underscores the significance of the upcoming fixture for us.”
