*Fuel Scarcity: NNPCL, Marketers Trade Blames Over Lingering Queues at Filling Stations*
The Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) attributes the persistent fuel scarcity in Nigeria to panic buying and exploitative practices by some petroleum marketers.
Reassuring the public, NNPC spokesperson Femi Soneye stated during a Friday press briefing that fuel queues are expected to clear next week. The NNPC claims to have over 1.5 billion litres of petroleum in stock, sufficient for at least 30 days.
However, Soneye accused marketers of exacerbating the situation by hoarding fuel and urged consumers to purchase only what they need, emphasizing that there is no shortage of fuel supply.
