According to announcements on the show’s official page, aspiring housemates will need to audition alongside a partner, which could be a friend, family member, or romantic partner.

The show’s organizers have been creating buzz on Instagram, encouraging fans to save the date for a Sunday in July. However, the exact premiere date has yet to be revealed.

Auditions for Season 9, which began on March 27, 2024, featured a unique requirement: participants had to apply in pairs. The organizers have emphasized their search for “Dynamic Duos” who are passionate about the show and ready to spice up Biggie’s house.

In a related development, Big Brother Africa star and actor Tayo Faniran has voiced his dissatisfaction with the show’s current recruitment approach. He criticized the organizers for selecting contestants with what he perceives as unimpressive backgrounds, contrasting it with his own lengthy audition process.

On his Instagram story, Tayo expressed his discontent: “I did not like social media because I thought it diminished the value of fame.” He continued, “I auditioned for the show in 2009 and only made it in 2014, but now it seems anyone can gain popularity easily. It’s disheartening when the standards are so low that even a rat could clear them.”

Tayo concluded, “I am extremely frustrated tonight, and to those who enable mediocrity, you are only undermining the quality for future generations.”
