In a moving message that has captured the hearts of Nigerians, Labour Party’s governorship candidate for Edo State, Akpata, addressed the tragic incident at Jattu Market in Etsako West Local Government Area. The calamity, which struck on Monday, July 8, 2024, claimed numerous lives and left many others injured due to trees felled by severe rains.

Akpata and his team visited the devastated market the following day to express their condolences and support to the grieving community. Their visit included a stop at a local hospital where some of the injured were receiving treatment. Akpata pledged assistance with medical bills for the victims, showcasing his commitment to supporting those affected by the tragedy.

In his message posted on X, Akpata also reached out to the Chairman of the Local Government, Mr. Marvellous Zibiri, offering condolences and assuring continued support during these challenging times.
