FG Aims For 10 Million Hectares To Secure Nigeria’s Food Future — Customs Chief Adeniyi

The Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs Service, Adewale Adeniyi, has announced that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration aims to cultivate 10 million hectares of land to enhance food security in Nigeria. Speaking at a book launch in Abuja, Adeniyi emphasized that the initiative aligns with the government’s efforts to reduce food prices by removing tariffs on essential staples such as rice, wheat, maize, and sorghum for six months. The move is part of a broader strategy to leverage the country’s arable land, currently only 40% cultivated, and address food insecurity challenges.
