Kidnapped Aides Of Kogi LG Chairman Released By Rescue Teams; Dare Thanks Security Forces

Three aides of Zacchaeus Dare, the caretaker chairman of Kabba Bunu Local Government Area in Kogi State, who were kidnapped two weeks ago, have been freed. The abduction occurred on the Okene/Kabba road, involving Dare, his aides, and two Kogi State University students. Dare managed to escape after a few hours but was left behind by the kidnappers.

The aides released include Omonisaiye Andrew, Mr. Olorundare Ojo, a councillorship candidate, and Sunday Ajayi, the APC Youth Leader in Egbeda ward. They were found near the Oyo mining site at Obajana, along with four others who were also held captive.

Dare expressed his gratitude to the Nigerian Army, Police, DSS, and local hunters for their efforts. He also thanked the Kogi State Governor, Usman Ododo, and the residents of Kabba Bunu for their support and prayers during the ordeal. The security agencies have been urged to continue searching the surrounding forest for further discoveries.
