Press Corps Award: An Affirmation Of Excellence On Federal Lawmaker Dennis Idahosa (Editorial)

This quotation always refreshes fond memories of great people that have sacrificed their time and resources to touch the lives of others.

Yesterday the media was awash with the intention of the conferment of an award of “Excellence for Constituency Development” on the lawmaker representing Ovia Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Hon Dennis Idahosa by the House of Representatives Press Corp.

This intention of the conferment of an award to the youthful lawmaker is an attestation to his quality representation at the green chambers.

According to the letter, “The Press Corps is aware of the many laudable constituency projects you have executed and your closeness to the grassroots.

“The Corps acknowledges your contributions on the floor of the house and your deep knowledge of legislative business and contribution to debates.”

Nigerians presently are agitating for good governance and quality representation, the Federal Government where the buck stops is a victim of the cries from the populace. I have always opined that if every representative elected by the electorates are responsive to their primary duties the national decay and cry we witness daily won’t be a part of us.

Dennis Idahosa as a Federal Lawmaker has kept his bond with his people, his closeness to them is legendary and his penchant for delivering constituency projects in consultation with LOCALS is highly commendable.

The Press Corp has indeed done the needful with this award because it would serve as a propeller to the young lawmaker to keep doing what brings smiles to his people.

Appreciation …Modupe…  goes a long way in soothing the hearts of one who is on the right track, it challenges the individual and justifies one’s act of benevolence.

It takes a good Head to identify another, Kudos to the House of Rep’s press corps for showing appreciation on behalf of the good constituents of Ovia Federal Constituency, we at our editorial board only hopes this award spurs other lawmakers in giving a sense of belonging to their people.

Nigeria deserves better, and it is high time our leaders serves us right, we only have one country to call our own.
