Under the leadership of Comptroller HC Ejibunu, the operation, which is a collaboration between the NCS, National Security Adviser’s Office, and the Nigeria Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Agency, has achieved remarkable results. To date, a total of 466,000 litres of PMS, valued at N380 million, has been seized.

Despite challenges such as difficult terrain and flooding, the operation has played a crucial role in stabilizing local fuel supplies and preventing economic sabotage linked to fuel smuggling. The Customs Service has also credited its success to collaboration with other agencies and stakeholders, emphasizing the importance of teamwork in achieving its objectives.

In addition to curbing smuggling, the operation has helped ensure that fuel is distributed efficiently and reached its designated destinations across the region, contributing to the stabilization of fuel prices nationwide.
