Olusegun posted: “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu welcomed the Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona Ogbagba II, to his Lagos residence today.

It is noteworthy that in May 2024, President Tinubu referred to Oba Adetona as a close friend. Tinubu expressed his longstanding trust, friendship, and admiration for the monarch. During the Awujale’s 90th birthday celebration, the President honored him with Nigeria’s second-highest national award, the Grand Commander of the Order of Nigeria (GCON), in recognition of the significant contributions the royal has made to national development.

At that event, represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, Tinubu lauded Oba Adetona’s role as an extraordinary leader and a hero of Nigeria’s democracy, admired for his dedication and courage in promoting national progress despite challenges.

The President also announced that the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, Jos, would oversee the Oba Sikiru Adetona School of Governance, which the monarch had established at Olabisi Onabanjo University.
