In a statement from Garba Shehu, Buhari conveyed his sorrow during a phone call to Dingyadi, offering prayers for the soul of Hajiya Abubakar.

Buhari’s heartfelt message underscores the significant impact Hajiya Abubakar had on those around her, emphasizing her dedication to family and community. He remarked that her exemplary values would serve as important lessons for future generations.

The former president expressed his condolences to Minister Dingyadi on Sunday, January 5, sharing words of encouragement and support during this challenging time. This personal connection highlights the respect and admiration Buhari has for both Hajiya Abubakar and her family.

Hajiya Hauwa’u Abubakar, who passed away on January 2, 2025, at the age of 94 after a prolonged illness, will be remembered for her commitment to family and community. Her funeral took place on January 3, 2025, at the Polo Club Area in Sokoto, where loved ones gathered to pay their respects.

Her legacy includes two children and many grandchildren, and her passing has drawn condolences from many, including the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Sokoto State Council, which praised her for leading a fulfilling life.
