In a press release, Edo State Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua, revealed that Edesili Anani, the Administrator of the Office of Edo State First Lady, visited the victim at the Daisy Ehanire Danjuma Centre.

Anani expressed her determination to ensure justice for the victim and emphasized that the offenders would be held accountable under the Violence Against Persons Prohibition (VAPP) Law. She condemned the actions of the perpetrators, who allegedly filmed the assault and shared it on social media, further solidifying the case against them. “The Edo State Government is committed to seeing these criminals face justice. The footage makes it impossible to obscure this heinous act. We stand firmly behind the victim,” she stated.

Anani also praised the Okuokpellagbe of Okpella, Lukeman Akemokue, and his wife, Blessing, for their quick intervention that brought this serious issue to light and guaranteed the safety of the victim and her mother, relocating them to Benin City amidst threats to their lives. “I commend your Highness and his wife for their excellent work. When such events occur, it’s crucial to speak out for others, as it could easily affect anyone’s child in the future,” she urged.
