In a series of Instagram stories on Sunday, Bobrisky shared his concerns about Speed Darlington’s situation, asking Burna Boy to show mercy and arguing that 45 days in jail should be sufficient punishment.

“I’m trying to mind my business this year, but my heart can’t ignore this,” Bobrisky began. “Prison is a terrible place. I’m not sure he has the means for the VIP section, it’s too costly.”

Bobrisky went on to reflect on how he stood up for others when they were in need of support, despite feeling that those same individuals didn’t return the favor in his time of struggle. He concluded with an emotional plea: “Burna, please release him. 45 days should be enough.”

In his message, Bobrisky also criticized fans for their role in encouraging Speed Darlington’s controversial actions, highlighting the need for followers to hold their idols accountable for their behavior. “Fans, stop applauding when your favorites go too far. Now, none of you is in prison with him,” he added.

Reports indicate that Speed Darlington was arrested in October 2024 under accusations of defamation and cyberstalking Burna Boy. Initially arrested in Lagos, he was transferred to Abuja, where he was detained by the IGP’s Intelligence Response Team. After his release, Speed Darlington was re-arrested in November while performing in Owerri, Imo State.
