A community source revealed, “The truck driver hit the boy fatally on Saturday evening at Marvelous Junction. Despite his attempt to escape, he was apprehended by an angry mob, who sought to lynch him. However, officers from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) swiftly intervened and rescued him.”

Confirming the incident, Kehinde Adeleke, the spokesperson for NSCDC Osun State Command, stated that investigations are currently underway.

Adeleke explained, “The youths of Obaagun were incensed and attempted to lynch the driver involved, but our officers acted quickly to prevent the incident. The driver has since been handed over to the Nigeria Police. The deceased has been laid to rest, and calm has been restored to the area.”
