This swearing-in ceremony took place on Friday and is part of a scheme aimed at fostering national unity and integration while providing young graduates an opportunity to contribute positively to national development.

During the event, Governor Umar Namadi, represented by Dr. Lawan Yunusa, the Commissioner for Basic Education, declared the orientation course officially open. He encouraged the corps members to settle in comfortably and enjoy the warm hospitality of the state’s residents.

Governor Namadi highlighted Jigawa State’s rich cultural heritage and unique agricultural assets, noting its conducive living conditions that support healthy lifestyles and entrepreneurship. “You will discover that our state is a place where you can grow and thrive,” he assured the new corps members.

Governor Namadi also assured the corps members that his administration would work to create an environment that nurtures their potential, stating, “We will provide the necessary support to empower the NYSC to fulfill its core mission.”

Earlier, the NYSC Coordinator, Alhaji Jidda Dawut, informed the corps members about the scheme’s four key programs aimed at fostering self-reliance and preparing them for future leadership roles. He urged them to adhere to camp regulations, respect authority, and actively engage in all activities, emphasizing that their participation is vital for the success of the orientation program.

“You are required to complete a three-week orientation course designed to equip you with essential skills and knowledge for your national service,” the coordinator explained to the corps members.
