According to the Ogun State Police Command spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, the deceased was found by community officials after receiving a call regarding the transformer. The Irewole community chairman, Rasheed Ajagbe, reported the incident to the police, revealing that the area had been plagued by theft and damage to electrical wires.

A police team was dispatched to investigate the scene and take photographs. The body was later taken to the General Hospital Ifo for autopsy and preservation.
