According to Olayinka, Atiku sabotaged the PDP’s efforts to win Lagos State in 2003, and his actions led to a series of problems that the party was able to patch up temporarily. However, the issues eventually resurfaced and led to the party’s loss of power in 2015.

Olayinka stated that Atiku’s rebellion against President Goodluck Jonathan in 2014 contributed significantly to the PDP’s defeat in the presidential election. He claimed that if Atiku had not led the rebellion, the PDP might still be in power.

The aide also accused Atiku of retiring to Dubai after losing elections and only returning to Nigeria every four years to take another shot at politics. Olayinka questioned how a party leader can abandon his party in times of need and expect to be welcomed back with open arms.

He also took a swipe at Dele Momodu, a media mogul and Atiku supporter, saying that he is not familiar with the history of the PDP’s problems and therefore offers incorrect opinions on the matter.

Olayinka concluded by stating that the PDP’s problems began with Atiku’s actions in 2003 and have been exacerbated by his repeated attempts to abandon the party and return to power.
