Notorious Bandit Leader Bugaje Renounces Crime Frees 50 Kidnapped Victims

In a 5-minute, 42-second video released by security analyst and counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, Bugaje stated that he now wished to be known as Zakiru Bugaje.

Denounces Crime, Frees Hostages

Bugaje publicly denounced kidnapping and theft, vowing never to return to a life of crime.

“We abducted over 50 people, contacted their families, and demanded ransoms—some as high as ₦10 million, others ₦25 million. However, out of fear of God, we later released them without taking any money,” he revealed.

Expressing deep remorse for his past actions, Bugaje urged other bandits to abandon criminality and praised Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as he declared his repentance.
